It’s a Euros summer, and all eyes are on the England team, especially Birmingham’s very own Jude Bellingham!
Alongside being one of the tournament’s most promising players, fans have also noticed darker patches on his skin, particularly around the cheeks and forehead.
What is hyperpigmentation?
Hyperpigmentation is a common, harmless condition where patches of the skin become darker than the surrounding areas. This can be a result of:
- Skin tone – darker skin tones are more likely to experience hyperpigmentation.
- Sun exposure
- Hormonal changes
- Age
- Genetics, and more.
With Jude’s skin tone and sun exposure due to his job being outside, this makes him more susceptible to pigmentation concerns. Melasma is also a very common pigmentation issue during your 20s.
He’s not the only famous face that’s experienced this skin concern. The likes of Kim Kardashian, Jenna Dewan, Olivia Munn and more have also had hyperpigmentation, melasma and related concerns.
How can hyperpigmentation be treated?
There are many simple and highly effective solutions to tackle hyperpigmentation, both at home and in-clinic at Dermoperfection!
Our skincare recommendations include:
- Wearing SPF daily: of course, this is essential even if you don’t have pigmentation concerns! This protects against UVA and UVB rays, thus preventing overproduction of melanin.
- Choosing hyperpigmentation tailored products: we are both an Obagi and PCA Skin ambassador clinic in Birmingham, so you can expect only the best products to add to your routine.
Check out our full skincare range here.

Using freshwater sponge as microneedles, this is a 100% natural treatment. Plus, it gives amazing results in treating hyperpigmentation, melasma, uneven skin tone and more.
