Every treatment in this guide falls into one of four families. The quickest way to narrow your options is to work out which problem you’re trying to solve.

Most people see themselves in more than one row. That’s normal. Skin ageing is rarely one thing, and many of our best results come from combining treatments from different families. Think of it like a sofa: hydration and regeneration recondition the fabric, collagen stimulators strengthen the frame, and fillers replace the cushion stuffing.

Skin boosters: Profhilo in Birmingham

Profhilo: the injectable moisturiser

Profhilo is the best-known skin booster in the UK. Made by the Swiss pharmaceutical company IBSA, each 2ml syringe contains 64mg of pure hyaluronic acid, one of the highest concentrations available. Its high and low molecular weight forms are bound by a patented heat process rather than chemical cross-linkers, giving it a runny, spreadable texture.

It is injected at just five points on each side of the face (the Bio Aesthetic Points technique) and spreads evenly beneath the skin. As it slowly releases, it draws in water and stimulates collagen and elastin. The result is plumper, bouncier, more radiant skin, without any change to your features.

• Best for: dullness, dehydration, crepey skin, fine lines, mild laxity
• Areas: face, neck, décolletage, hands, arms, knees
• Course: 2 sessions, 4 weeks apart
• Results: hydration within 1 to 2 weeks; lasts around 6 months
• Price: £575 for a full course of 2

Profhilo Structura: support for the midface

Profhilo Structura is a newer, stronger member of the family. Rather than hydrating the skin surface, it targets the fat layer beneath the cheeks, restoring support for people whose midface has started to sag or look sunken.

It is injected by cannula in front of the ear and doesn’t add volume like a filler. Instead, it thickens and firms the tissue, softening the look of hollows and heaviness around the cheeks and eyes.

• Best for: early midface sagging, hollowing under the cheekbones
• Course: 2 sessions, 1 month apart, with a review after 4 months
• Price: £575 for a full course of 2

Profhilo and Profhilo Structura can be combined: Structura for support, classic Profhilo for surface skin quality.

Regenerative boosters: Polynucleotides

If Profhilo hydrates, polynucleotides repairs. They are highly purified fragments of DNA, derived from fish such as salmon or trout, that act as building blocks and signals for your skin’s own repair cells. They encourage fibroblasts to renew collagen and elastin, calm inflammation and support healthier tissue over time.

Polynucleotides are especially valued for delicate areas where other injectables are less suitable, most notably under the eyes, where fillers can cause puffiness or a bluish tint.

Polynucleotides work well as a foundation treatment before or alongside Profhilo, particularly if your skin is thin and needs strengthening before it can benefit from hydration.

Collagen stimulators: Sculptra, Juläine and HArmonyCa

Collagen stimulators, also called biostimulators, are the long game of skin rejuvenation. Rather than adding hydration or volume directly, they trigger your body to build new collagen over several months. The results develop slowly, look entirely natural, and last longer than most other injectables.

Sculptra

Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible substance that activates collagen-producing cells as it is gradually absorbed. It is ideal for people with overall collagen loss: hollowed temples, sunken cheeks, softening of the jawline and a general thinning of the face.

• Course: usually 2 to 3 sessions, several weeks apart
• Results: develop over weeks to months; can last up to two years
• Price: £595 for 1 vial, £895 for 2 vials

Juläine

Juläine is a new-generation PLLA injectable that works in a similar way to Sculptra, stimulating fibroblasts to rebuild collagen and skin density. Our medical team trained with the brand on Harley Street.

• Best for: volume loss, mild to moderate laxity, thinning skin across the cheeks, temples, jawline and folds
• Course: 2 to 3 treatments, several weeks apart
• Results: develop over 8 to 12 weeks; designed to last up to two years

With both PLLA treatments, you’ll be asked to massage the area for a few days afterwards to help the product settle evenly.

HArmonyCa

HArmonyCa by Allergan is a hybrid. It combines hyaluronic acid filler for instant lift with calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres that keep stimulating collagen for months afterwards. You get the immediate result of a filler and the lasting benefit of a biostimulator in one treatment.

• Best for: midface volume loss, mild to moderate jowls, lines running from the ears towards the mouth
• Results: immediate lift, improving further over time; lasts up to 24 months
• Price: £695 per treatment, £995 for 2 syringes

Dermal fillers: volume and structure

Dermal fillers are also made from hyaluronic acid, but cross-linked into a firmer gel designed to stay exactly where it is placed. Rather than spreading like Profhilo, filler holds its shape, lifting and supporting tissue that has lost structure with age.

We use premium brands including Juvéderm and Teoxane, choosing a firmer gel for structure (cheeks, jawline, chin) and a softer one where movement matters (lips).

• Best for: hollow cheeks and temples, deep nasolabial folds and marionette lines, soft jawline, under-eye hollows, lip shape and volume
• Areas: cheeks, temples, lips, chin, jawline, tear troughs, folds
• Results: visible immediately; settled within about 2 weeks
• Longevity: lips 6 to 12 months; tear troughs around 12 months; cheeks and jawline 12 to 18 months
• Downtime: possible swelling or bruising for a few days
• Price: from £350 per 1ml syringe; lip filler from £200

Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved if needed, an important safety advantage when they are placed by an experienced medical injector.

Gentler options: mesotherapy, exosomes and EXION Face

Not everyone is ready for injectables, and not every skin needs them. These treatments boost hydration and radiance with fewer or no injections, and they make excellent maintenance between bigger treatments.

Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy uses tiny, superficial micro-injections to deliver a tailored blend of hyaluronic acid, vitamins, antioxidants, peptides and amino acids into the skin. Unlike Profhilo, the cocktail can be customised, so it can target dullness and uneven tone as well as dehydration. We use professional protocols including Mesoestetic.

• Best for: dull, dehydrated skin, uneven tone, early fine lines, tired under-eyes
• Course: a series of sessions, tailored at consultation

Exosomes with microneedling

Purasomes exosome treatment pairs microneedling with a serum containing billions of exosomes, tiny cell messengers that carry repair signals and growth factors. Applied through the micro-channels, they support collagen renewal, calm inflammation and speed recovery.
