SQT Bio Microneedling for menopausal skin

Menopause is a transformative phase in a woman’s life, marked by hormonal changes that can significantly impact skin health.

As oestrogen levels decline, menopausal skin becomes more prone to dryness, dullness and a loss of elasticity. In the quest for effective skincare solutions, spicules have emerged as a promising ingredient with a range of benefits tailored to the specific needs of menopausal skin.

Let’s explore how the spicules in SQT can help address the challenges faced by menopausal skin, and promote a radiant and rejuvenated complexion.

Stimulates Collagen Production

One of the key benefits of spicules for menopausal skin is their ability to stimulate collagen production. As oestrogen levels decrease during menopause, collagen synthesis slows down. This leads to a loss of firmness and elasticity in the skin.

Spicules promote collagen production, helping restore skin’s suppleness and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. By boosting collagen levels, spicules can help menopausal skin regain its youthful vitality and resilience.

Enhances Skin Renewal and Product Absorption Rates

Menopausal skin often experiences a slowdown in the natural process of cell turnover taking almost 60 days. This leads to a buildup of dead skin cells and a dull, lacklustre complexion. Yes, all of those amazing ingredients you are using at home generally just sit on the surface layer and don’t penetrate the skin enough.

Spicules act as microscopic channels, allowing skincare products to penetrate deeper into the skin’s layers. This enhanced penetration ensures that key ingredients, such as antioxidants, vitamins and hydrating agents, can exert their effects more efficiently. This results in better overall skin health and increasing product absorption by as much as 3000%.

SQT Spicules offer a gentle exfoliating effect, helping to remove dead skin cells and promote the renewal of fresh, healthy skin. By encouraging cell turnover, spicules can reveal smoother, more radiant skin underneath. Plus, signs of ageing are diminished and a youthful glow is restored to menopausal skin.

Improves Skin Texture and Tone

Uneven skin texture and tone are common concerns for menopausal women. Hormonal changes can lead to hyperpigmentation, age spots and rough patches. Spicules can help address these issues by exfoliating the skin and promoting the removal of dead, pigmented cells.

Additionally, spicules’ collagen-stimulating properties can help improve skin texture, resulting in a smoother, more refined complexion. With regular use, menopausal skin can appear brighter, more even-toned and visibly rejuvenated.

Boosts Hydration and Barrier Function

Dryness and dehydration are prevalent issues for menopausal skin, as decreased oestrogen levels can impair the skin’s ability to retain moisture. Spicules help enhance hydration by facilitating the absorption of moisture and reinforcing the skin’s natural barrier function.

By strengthening the skin’s protective barrier, spicules help prevent moisture loss and improve overall skin health. Menopausal skin feels softer, smoother and more resilient, with reduced sensitivity and irritation.

Addresses Hormonal Acne and Breakouts

While menopause typically brings a decrease in oil production, some women may still experience hormonal acne and occasional breakouts due to fluctuating hormone levels. Spicules can help alleviate these concerns by unclogging pores, reducing inflammation and promoting skin renewal.

Their gentle exfoliating action helps prevent the buildup of pore-clogging debris, while their anti-inflammatory properties soothe and calm irritated skin. With continued use, spicules can help menopausal women achieve clearer, healthier-looking skin.

Spicules offer a multitude of benefits for menopausal skin, from stimulating collagen production to improving skin texture and hydration. By incorporating treatments such as SQT spicule-based treatments into their skincare routine, menopausal women can address common concerns such as fine lines, dullness, dryness and hormonal acne.

With their rejuvenating properties and ability to promote skin renewal, spicules hold great promise as a skincare ingredient tailored to the unique needs of menopausal skin.

Embrace the power of spicules and rediscover a youthful, radiant complexion during this transformative phase of life. Book yours now at our Birmingham clinic. We were the first clinic in the city to offer the revolutionary SQT Bio Microneedling treatment!

Common skincare FAQs answered!

With so much information about skincare online nowadays, it can be confusing to know what’s actually worthwhile advice. We love this piece by The Tweakments Guide, answering your frequently asked questions so you can get the best out of your skincare.

1) What order should I apply skincare?

It depends a little on what products you use (you don’t have to have all of the below!) but in general, your routine should look something like this:

  1. Cleanser: first clean your face
  2. Toner: then hydrate and balance your skin if you wish
  3. Vitamin C serum: apply to dry skin as the ingredient is notoriously unstable on contact with air and water.
  4. Other serums and treatments: When applying multiple serums, apply the lightest, water-based textures first, such as your hyaluronic acid serum. Then, apply any others such as your retinoids.
  5. Eye Cream: if your eye cream is lighter than your moisturiser apply it beforehand. (If not, versus the order).
  6. Moisturiser: use to help lock in moisture and hydrate your skin
  7. Oil: other products cannot penetrate oil so apply those textures last
  8. Sunscreen: use in the morning – the final and very important step for protecting your skin

2) What is the difference between AHA, BHAs and PHAs?

AHAs, BHAs and PHAs – the ‘hydroxy acids’ – are the three types of exfoliating acids. They all work by exfoliating the skin, but have slightly different properties. The AHAs are brighteners, such as glycolic acid and lactic acid. They work on the skin’s surface to give you an enviable evenly-toned glow.

BHAs, aka salicylic acid, are oil-soluble, which means they can deep dive into your pores and declog them. That makes them great for oily, acne-prone skin.

Finally, PHAs (glyconolactone and lactobionic acid) are the gentle acid giants. They work similarly to AHAs but are larger and don’t penetrate as deeply. This makes them less likely to cause irritation.

3) Why is my skincare pilling?

Ever confidently applied all your skincare, then noticed little balls of products appearing on your skin? That’s the frustration of pilling – and it often means you have to start all over again. Ironically, it’s often caused by rushing. When laying multiple products, you need to make sure each product is fully absorbed before applying the next.

Equally, make sure you are using the recommended amount – using too much can lead to build-up. If you are really struggling, check the ingredients list. It may be because you are using multiple silicone-based products, which can often pile when overly layered.

4) What’s the difference between blackheads and sebaceous filaments?

Easily confused, blackheads are clogged pores that are open to the air, resulting in a dark, raised bumped appearance. Sebaceous filaments are naturally-occurring components of your skin’s pore lining, which help channel sebum through the pores. They become more noticeable (like dark, flat dots on your skin) if your sebaceous glands overproduce sebum.

To reduce the appearance of sebaceous filaments (something that can be managed rather than eliminated), address excess oil with oil-reducing cleansers, water-based rather than oily moisturisers (especially those that contain niacinamide which can regulate oil production) and clay masks. Avoid stripping formulas as this only triggers your skin to produce more oil.

As for blackheads, these are best addressed by a combination of cleansing and exfoliation, such as salicylic acid toners to remove dirt and dead skin cells. Professional extraction by a dermatologist can also safely remove blackheads.

5) Where can I find good skincare?

Good question! There’s plenty of amazing skincare out there on the market – which is both a good thing (as there’s lots of choice) but also a little overwhelming (because there are so many options). Here at TTG, we’ve tried to make the whole process a little easier. You can find our tried-and-tested selection of results-driven products designed for your skin type, concerns and budgets in our skincare cheat sheets.

Discover the “salmon sperm facial”

New treatments in beauty and skincare emerge, promising to deliver youthful and radiant skin. One such treatment that has recently garnered attention is the salmon-sperm facial, which even Kim Kardashian has tried, as revealed in a recent episode of “The Kardashians.” This treatment boasts an impressive celebrity clientele, including Jennifer Aniston, who is widely regarded as a skincare authority.

What is a Salmon Sperm Facial?

A salmon-sperm facial is a unique skincare treatment that involves the injection of polynucleotides derived from salmon milt (fish semen). This cutting-edge procedure aims to enhance skin regeneration and stimulate new collagen production, leading to a rejuvenated and more youthful appearance.

How does the Salmon Sperm Facial work?

The treatment involves several steps:

  • Cleansing: The skin is thoroughly cleansed to remove any impurities and prepare it for the procedure.
  • Numbing Cream: A topical numbing cream is applied to minimise discomfort during the injections.
  • Injection: Fine needles inject polynucleotides extracted from salmon milt into the skin. These polynucleotides work at a cellular level to promote skin regeneration and collagen production.
  • Post-treatment Care: After the injections, soothing creams and serums are applied to calm the skin and enhance the treatment’s effectiveness.

Benefits of the Salmon Sperm Facial

The primary benefits of this innovative treatment include:

  • Enhanced Skin Regeneration: The polynucleotides help repair damaged skin cells and promote the growth of new, healthy cells.
  • Increased Collagen Production: The treatment stimulates collagen synthesis, helping improve skin elasticity and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Improved Skin Texture: Regular sessions can lead to smoother, more even-toned skin with a noticeable reduction in imperfections.
  • Hydration and Firmness: The treatment helps lock in moisture, making the skin appear plumper and more hydrated.

Celebrity endorsements of the Salmon Sperm Facial

Kim Kardashian’s recent revelation about trying the salmon-sperm facial has sparked a surge of interest in the treatment. Known for her dedication to skincare and beauty, Kardashian’s endorsement has added credibility to the procedure. Additionally, Jennifer Aniston, another skincare enthusiast, has been reported to be a fan of this innovative treatment.

The salmon-sperm facial represents the forefront of modern skincare technology, offering impressive results in skin regeneration and collagen production. While the concept may initially seem unusual, the science behind it is sound, and the endorsements from high-profile celebrities speak to its efficacy.
