The most effective ways to treat pigmentation with Dermoperfection

Skin pigmentation issues are a very common and most often harmless concern, but we know these can knock your confidence, so we are here to help restore self-love in your skin!

What causes pigmentation issues? The main causes of pigmentation issues, such as hyperpigmentation, is sun exposure, inflammation and pregnancy.

Dermoperfection is a specialist medical skin and cosmetic clinic, with clinicians who have years of experience treating pigmentation.

A few of our top treatment recommendations include:

Microneedling

Using the Mesoestetic m.pen[pro], we use Microneedling to create microchannels to allow for maximum absorption of active ingredients! We will then use the depigmentation solution, which inhibits tyrosinase, the enzyme that produces melanin.

Following your Microneedling treatment, you can expect your skin to be brightened and corrected!

DiamondGlow

Our hugely popular 3in1 hydrafacial extracts, exfoliates and infuses the skin to restore your glow! This then delivers serum infusion into your skin – the SkinMedica Even & Correct Advanced Brightening serum will correct hyperpigmentation and dark spots through glycolic and phytic acids.

PCA Skin peels

We loved the world renowned PCA Skin skin peels for reducing pigmentation – these contain hydroquinone, which helps even out skin tone. We offer both the PCA Skin NoPeel Peel and PCA Skin Perfecting Peel at our Birmingham skin clinic!

Medical grade skincare

Take your pigmentation home remedies to the next level with the medical grade skincare range at Dermoperfection!

Retinoids have become a hot skincare favourite recently, and these have been approved for addressing pigmentation disorders like hyperpigmentation and melasma. For retinoids, we recommend the Obagi Tretinoin range (we are an Obagi ambassador clinic here in Birmingham).

Vitamin C is another must-try for treating pigmentation issues, as this works to inhibit tyrosinase. The Obagi Professional-C is rich in Vitamin C – there’s even an SPF, and since sun damage can cause pigmentation issues, it’s ideal to take preventative measures too.

As always, if you need more treatment or skincare advice for hyperpigmentation, melasma and other pigmentation concerns, get in touch with our expert Birmingham team. We can’t wait to unlock “the best version of you” without the worry of pigmentation!

FAQs about ULTRAcel Q+ HIFU

ULTRAcel Q+ is one of the most in-demand treatments at Dermoperfection, Birmingham’s leading medical skin and cosmetic clinic, and we know many more of you will be considering a HIFU treatment, so we’ve put together the most frequently asked questions about HIFU!

What is HIFU?

HIFU stands for High Intensity Focused Ultrasound, which is a clinically proven, non-surgical face lifting and body contouring treatment. We offer ULTRAcel Q+ HIFU treatment, and we are the exclusive providers for it in the West Midlands!

How does HIFU work?

In an ULTRAcel Q+ treatment, the HIFU waves are beamed to a controlled targeted depth where thermal energy tightens and contracts underlying tissues, right down to the muscle layer where structural weakening starts. This is generally only improved by surgery.

What areas does ULTRAcel Q+ HIFU treat?

This treats wrinkles and tightens, lifts and contours the skin around the body. Some of the key areas targeted are the face, neck, arms, legs, stomach, back along with other areas that lose definition, tone and elasticity when collagen production naturally decreases.

Benefits of ULTRAcel Q+ HIFU include improved skin texture, refined pore size, skin lifting and tightening, body contouring, facial sculpting and targeting stubborn fat.

How long does it take?

This is dependent on how many areas are treated, but ULTRAcel Q+ HIFU only takes 3 minutes on the lower face, 8 minutes on the full face and 15 minutes on the body, making it an ideal lunchtime aesthetic treatment.

How quickly will I see results?

Your skin will feel smoother and tighter soon after the treatment, however the full effect will be seen around 12 weeks after treatment, with results then lasting up to 2 years!

How frequently will I need an ULTRAcel Q+ HIFU treatment?

To see optimum results, it is recommended to be treated every three months; typically you will need 2-3 treatments, although everyone’s response is different so some may only need one. This depends on factors such as degree of skin laxity and individual collagen building process.

Does ULTRAcel Q+ HIFU hurt?

You will feel a prickling sensation followed by a feeling of heat when the device is passed over the skin, however it’s only a mild discomfort. No anaesthetic is usually required, although you may want to take traditional pain relief to alleviate any discomfort.

As ULTRAcel Q+ HIFU is 3 times faster than other HIFU treatments, this makes it the least painful option!

Is this treatment safe?

Definitely! ULTRAcel Q+ is medically proven to be a safe treatment for the face and body. And as you are treated by a team of medical professionals at Dermoperfection, who tailor each treatment to you, you can guarantee that you’re in safe hands.

Are there any side effects?

You may feel a mild sunburn-like sensation in the first couple of days, however this is usually only slightly discomforting. Your skin may also be red for the first day, and sometimes mild bruising. You can discuss this during your consultation if you have any questions.

How should I look after my skin following treatment?

We recommend applying sunscreen daily following the treatment (SPF30), however this should already be part of your routine to ensure your skin is protected. We have a range of SPFs available at Dermoperfection from leading medical skincare brands including Obagi and PCA Skin – check them out here.

If you feel any discomfort, we recommend aloe vera gel or a cold compress.

Our expert clinicians are always here to answer any further questions you have about ULTRAcel Q+ HIFU! So if you want to see the incredible effects of HIFU for yourself, come find us in our purpose-built clinic in The Mailbox, Birmingham.

How does EMSCULPT help with diastasis recti?

Feeling self-conscious about your belly pooch? This may be diastasis recti, which is treatable with the EMSCULPT treatment available at our Birmingham medical skin and cosmetic clinic!

What is diastasis recti? This is where too much pressure in the abdominal area causes your left and right stomach muscles to widen. This is most common after pregnancy, with two thirds of women experiencing this in the final trimester and 40% of women at 6 months postpartum.

However, this condition is not exclusive to women, with men often experiencing it too. Other causes include weight fluctuation, ageing and genetics.

This can have some side effects, including discomfort and pain in the abdomen, lower back pain and pelvic floor dysfunction. This also can affect the ability to perform daily activities and workout.

However, our expert team of clinicians can help with our brand new EMSCULPT treatment! This is predominantly known for sculpting and toning the body, but is clinically proven to treat mild to moderate cases of diastasis recti.

There are so many benefits to EMSCULPT, including the fact that it is painless and is both non-surgical and non-invasive, meaning very little downtime from this treatment.

If you’re wondering how EMSCULPT for diastasis recti works, it uses high intensity focused electromagnetic energy (HIFEM) to stimulate muscle contractions – just one half an hour session is equivalent to 20,000 sit-ups!

These contractions help the body rejuvenate the rectus abdominal muscles, closing the gap and thus making the muscles bigger and stronger.

For optimal results from EMSCULPT, we recommend a course of 4 treatments. Following this, our clinicians will advise you on when to book top-ups, which is dependent on your goals.

To discover more about this treatment, head to our treatment page here.

And if you want to find out if EMSCULPT is the treatment for you, we are offering FREE 10 minute taster sessions at our Birmingham clinic! We have limited availability on these, so book yours up soon to see the powerful results for yourself.

Don’t let diastasis recti or ANYTHING hold you back – come along to Dermoperfection today and let’s start your journey to the most empowered you.

Why ULTRAcel Q+ is the best HIFU treatment!

Dermoperfection is proud to be the West Midlands’ exclusive provider of ULTRAcel Q+, the top HIFU treatment on the market!

What is HIFU? This stands for high intensity focused ultrasound, which is a clinically proven way to lift and contour the face and body. The anti-ageing results HIFU offers can usually only be seen through surgery!

What makes ULTRAcel Q+ stand out compared to other HIFU treatments is that it is 3x faster than everything else on the market. Not only does this mean it is easy to fit this treatment into your busy schedule, but it also minimises discomfort!

ULTRAcel Q+ HIFU treats the lower face in just 3 minutes, the full face in 8 minutes and the body area in only 15 minutes.

Another reason why ULTRAcel Q+ is the best HIFU treatment is because it’s the ONLY device in the world that offers linear technology for fat reduction, using a number of specific module heads that work at variable depths below the skin.

This widely distributes the ultrasound energy, hitting the fat layer and reducing stubborn fat permanently.

ULTRAcel Q+ HIFU works its magic over 3 months, producing fresh collagen in this time, restoring your youthfulness long-term. You can expect to see incredible results for up to 2 years post-treatment!

To see optimal effects, we recommend a course of 2-3 treatments, depending on varying factors, including skin laxity and the individual collagen building process.

Here at Dermoperfection, Birmingham’s leading medical skin and cosmetic clinic, to start your journey to self-confidence with ULTRAcel Q+ HIFU, you can get 20% off your first course of this treatment!

But hurry, this is only valid until the end of March 2023! To discover more about this in-demand treatment, book your free consultation and come along to see the expert clinicians at our purpose-built clinic in The Mailbox.

Why are anti-wrinkle injections one of the top aesthetic treatments?

Why are anti-wrinkle injections so popular? These are always a trending aesthetic treatment, with patients loving the anti-ageing effects it brings!

Aesthetic treatments are designed to enhance your natural beauty without the need for surgery – anti-wrinkle injections have previously been associated with a “frozen face” look, but with leading clinicians like ours, you can see subtle but noticeable results.

These are some other reasons why anti-wrinkle injections are so popular:

They reduce the signs of ageing

This is probably the main reason why they are so popular! Anti-wrinkle injections relax the muscle that causes fine lines and wrinkles. When you choose a trusted practitioner, you will look youthful but still maintain facial expressions!

They are minimally invasive

There’s no going under the knife – this treatment is an injectable, which causes minimal discomfort. We can also offer a numbing cream to help reduce any pain. You don’t even have to wait between your consultation and procedure – if we have decided you are suitable for anti-wrinkle injections, you can have your treatment on the same day!

They boost confidence

Published research has shown a link between your mood and anti-wrinkle injections, and here at Dermoperfection, we love being able to restore confidence in your own skin!

They are quick to administer

This is dependent on how many areas you plan to treat, but most anti-wrinkle injection appointments take less than 30 minutes. This is why they are dubbed “lunchtime treatments”, as they easily fit into your busy schedule – read about all our lunchtime treatments here.

There is little downtime

We advise you to take care around the treatment area in the first 24 hours, however after this, you can resume normal life fully! For more anti-wrinkle injection aftercare, click here.

They are long-lasting

You can expect the incredible effects of anti-wrinkle injections for up to 6 months, and you can then book top-ups to maintain these results! You don’t have to worry about your skin looking more wrinkled once they have worn off – many patients report their baseline skin looks more youthful than before.

They can be preventative too

As well as treating existing deep fine lines and wrinkles, anti-wrinkle injections can also prevent the first signs of ageing from developing further – this is typically suitable for patients aged mid-20s to 30s.

We use the number one treatment brand for your anti-wrinkle aesthetic treatment – we are proud to only offer the most trusted names at our Birmingham medical skin and cosmetic clinic.
