We are so excited for you to begin your skincare journey with the award-winning Profhilo!
Here at Dermoperfection, we LOVE the Profhilo treatment, which has been dubbed an “revolutionary moisturising treatment” to boost the skin’s hydration, and remodel the skin to treat laxity.
Profhilo is the first BDDE-free stabilised hyaluronic acid (HA) based injectable, and there’s nothing else like it available on the market right now!
Here are some frequently asked questions about Profhilo:
How does it work?
Profhilo is injected precisely into the treatment area, which stimulates collagen and elastin, to improve skin tone and the appearance of fine lines. Hyaluronic acid is hydrophilic, so it draws and holds water from your body, meaning it acts as a hydrator rather than a filler.
How long does a Profhilo treatment take?
This is dependent on your individual treatment plan, however it typically takes half an hour.
How long does Profhilo take to work?
You’ll start to see results within the first 3-5 days, although it takes up to 28 days for Profhilo to work its full magic, as this is how long it takes for collagen production to be stimulated by the slow release of HA.
How long does it last?
Profhilo typically lasts around 6 months – for optimal results, we recommend booking top-ups every 6-9 months.
Where can Profhilo be used?
This is typically used on the face, but it is also perfect for the body! Common treatment areas include the face, neck, decolletage, upper arms, thighs and more!
Is there much downtime?
The recovery time from Profhilo is minimal, and you’ll be able to return to all light activities straight after treatment! However, we recommend refraining from taking part in high intensity sports in the first few days, and don’t visit saunas or steam rooms. You should also avoid intense sunlight in this time, so we suggest booking in advance of holidays or outdoor events.
Are there any side effects?
Profhilo is a biocompatible treatment, meaning there is minimal inflammation and is comfortable for the patient both during and after treatment. There is potential for minor bruising or swelling around the injection sites, however this should subside quickly.
Is there anyone who can’t have Profhilo?
Profhilo isn’t recommended for anyone pregnant or breastfeeding, or are allergic to hyaluronic acid.
Can this be combined with other treatments?
Yes! Profhilo is great as a standalone treatment, or in combination with dermal fillers, anti-wrinkle injections or Envy (DiamondGlow) facials. To discuss which treatment combos are best suited for you, get in touch with us!
As with all our treatments, we recommend booking a free consultation so you can discover more about Profhilo and determine if it’s the treatment for you.
