Profhilo: What You Need to Know
Profhilo is a bio-remodelling injectable treatment containing one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid available. Rather than acting as a filler, Profhilo works within the skin to improve tissue quality and hydration while stimulating collagen production and elastin production.
Unlike traditional dermal fillers, Profhilo spreads evenly beneath the skin, functioning as a skin booster that improves skin elasticity, skin texture and firmness from within. This makes it particularly suitable for patients who want visible skin rejuvenation without altering facial shape.
What Concerns Profhilo Helps With
Profhilo treatment at our Birmingham clinic can help improve:
Fine lines and early wrinkles
- Loss of skin elasticity
- Sagging tissue and crepey skin
- Dullness and uneven skin texture
- Dehydrated, thinning skin
- Reduced skin tightness
- Early signs of ageing
- Poor tissue quality
Profhilo is suitable for a wide range of skin conditions and is often chosen as a preventative or restorative treatment for ageing skin.
How Profhilo Works
Profhilo is injected into specific points using ultra-fine needles, allowing the product to disperse naturally across the treated area. Once injected, Profhilo acts as an injectable moisturiser while stimulating the skin’s natural processes.
Profhilo works by:
- Improving deep skin hydration
- Stimulating collagen production
- Supporting elastin production
- Enhancing tissue quality
- Restoring skin elasticity
This biological response leads to lifted, youthful skin and a healthy glow that develops gradually rather than appearing instantly overfilled.

What to Expect During Your Appointment
Your Profhilo journey at Dermoperfection Birmingham begins with an initial consultation. During this appointment, one of our experienced aesthetic practitioners will assess:
- Skin quality and elasticity
- Areas of sagging tissue
- Fine lines and texture changes
- Suitability for skin boosters
- Overall treatment goals
Profhilo is administered using ultra-fine needles and typically takes around 20-30 minutes. Discomfort is minimal and short-lived. Small bumps at injection points may appear briefly and usually settle within 24-48 hours.
There is no significant downtime, making Profhilo an excellent option for patients seeking non-surgical rejuvenation with minimal disruption.
Results and How Long They Last
Profhilo results develop gradually as the skin responds to increased hydration and collagen production. Most patients notice:
- Improved skin hydration within 1-2 weeks
- Increased skin tightness and elasticity after 4-6 weeks
- Smoother skin texture and enhanced natural radiance
A standard course consists of two treatments, spaced four to six weeks apart. Results typically last six to twelve months, with maintenance treatments recommended to support long-term skin rejuvenation.

We want to make sure you have all the information that you need before your treatment. If you have any questions that aren’t covered, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
What is Profhilo?
Profhilo is the first BDDE-free stabilised hyaluronic acid (HA) based injectable, that works as both an “injectable moisturiser” and a bio-remodeller for sagging skin.
How does Profhilo work?
When injected precisely into the treatment area, Profhilo stimulates collagen and elastin, to improve skin tone and the appearance of fine lines. Hyaluronic acid is hydrophilic, so it draws and holds water from your body, meaning it acts as a hydrator rather than a filler.
How long does a Profhilo treatment take?
This is dependent on your treatment plan, but a typical session takes around half an hour.
Does Profhilo hurt?
As with any injectable treatment, you may feel a slight sensation when the needle enters the skin, however many patients find it to be painless! You can have topical pain relief applied to minimise any discomfort, but it is usually not required.
When will I see results from Profhilo?
You’ll start to see rejuvenating results within the first 3-5 days, although it takes up to 28 days for Profhilo to work its full magic, as this is how long it takes for collagen production to be stimulated by the slow release of HA.
How long do Profhilo results last?
Profhilo gives results that last around 6 months – for optimal results, we recommend booking top-ups every 6-9 months.
Where can Profhilo be used?
This is typically used on the face, but it is also perfect for the body! Common treatment areas include the face, neck, decolletage, upper arms, thighs and more!
Is Profhilo safe?
Profhilo has a very high safety profile, especially if you go to an approved Profhilo provider like Dermoperfection. Our Profhilo boxes come with a hologram label which is a mark of quality, traceability and authenticity.
Is there anyone who can’t have Profhilo?
We cannot administer Profhilo if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have a hyaluronic acid allergy.
Can I combine Profhilo with other aesthetic treatments?
Yes! Profhilo is great as a standalone treatment, or in combination with dermal fillers, anti-wrinkle injections, HydraFacial or skin peel treatments, to name a few. To discuss which treatment combos are best suited for you, book your consultation today.
What is the difference between Profhilo and Profhilo Structura?
Both are amazing anti-ageing treatments, however they have slightly differing outcomes. Whilst Profhilo is indicated for hydration, elasticity and overall rejuvenation, Profhilo Structura focuses on lifting particularly around the midface and eye area.
